It was a great Easter

It's so amazing how each year brings a change with our holidays. For years, Easter was always in Palm Springs at my sister Angie's house. We enjoyed great family time, food and fun. We always went to Easter Sunday church service and usually went swimming and laid out in the sun. We always did an egg hunt for the kids and would hide the eggs outside around the pool and throughout the yard. As I mentioned, our holiday celebrations do change from year to year and this year was the extreme. We got up and did our Easter baskets with the kids, headed to church and then to our friends house for dinner with friends and their kids. Sounds pretty normal and fun and then I looked out the window and it was snowing!!! Everyone broke out in song to "I'm dreaming of a white easter" and I in my mind drifted back to Easter's past and was "dreaming" of swimsuits, sun and fun. I was snapped back to reality with the announcement of "Egg Hunt time!" Are you kidding me?! Come on G, let's go find your winter coat and boots so we can go hunt easter eggs! Ok, so the dads go out and hide the eggs and I am showing G through the window where to go and get the eggs as fast as he can so we can get back in the house. Yes, I'm a wimp. In CA, we wanted to find the eggs quickly so that the candy wouldn't melt under the warm sun. No problems here with that concern, if anything the candy would be preserved by freezing and safe for days, maybe even months back here. Anyways, he hunted and had fun with all the kids. We really had a wonderful day with all the families. They truly made our holiday warm and loving. And I do mean that. We are so blessed. We hope you had a wonderful Easter. We are heading to CA next Tuesday. I have already started packing the bags.

Happy Easter!

We want to wish you a very blessed Easter ~ One filled with the remembrance of what Christ truly did on the cross for each and everyone of us. We just returned from our Good Friday service and am again humbled and amazed at the love the Lord has for us. I never leave a Good Friday service without tear stained eyes and an awestruck spirit at the love the Lord displayed for us with the death of His one and only Son on the cross. My heart breaks as a mom to even begin to imagine loosing my son in such a way. BUT, God is so good and loves us so much and gave us such an awesome free gift of salvation through that death. And with that I say, "Praise God that he died and then rose on Sunday!" Have a Happy Easter and God Bless you and yours. Check out, "That's My King."

Some Indoor Fun!

Well, it looks nice outside when you look out the windows, but when ya open the door, it's still a bit chilly. Thus, I have resorted to having to bend the indoor rules in order to entertain the troops. As long as they are supervised, they are allowed to jump and climb for a little while to burn off some energy. They had a bunch of fun today and I was able to capture some of it to share with you.

She wants to walk and talk

Little G is growing up so quick. Her new joy is standing at the coffee table playing with toys and wanting us to walk her around the house holding her hands. She grins from ear to ear and is so proud of herself. She loves it when Big G watches, she just lights up and deep down I know she is longing for the day that she can run with him around the house.

Skater Boy

Well, Big G went roller skating for the first time and he had a lot of fun. He was out on that rink non-stop for 2 hours. He took a break to get something to drink, but that was about it. When it was all girl skate, he was out there. When it was all adult skate, he was out there. When it was skate the other way, you got it, he was out there. Here is a little something to make ya smile. Well, I'm his mom, so I hope you do too. PS, the lady at the end of the video that takes his hand is a friend's mom - I wouldn't let him skate away with a stranger, although, it looks that way in the video.
