Mr and Mrs. G at ages 3 and 1 - it doesn't get any better!

It is happening so fast. These little kids are growing up so quickly. Big G - all potty trained, going to school, thinking and speaking like such a grown up. And little G, she is such a little dare devil with a sensitive heart - understanding so much and saying even more. We are blessed with these beautiful pictures of their lives. Times we can never get back, yet we have them captured forever in pictures. Sweet remembrances of time that has gotten away too quickly.

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Billy Bob

The pictures speak for themselves. I still am laughing. I can't believe Little G went along with this.

The Payoffs of Parenting

I can't begin to imagine how many hours I have spent rocking, reading, feeding, singing, sleeping in the rocking chair with the kids over the past 3.5 years. The payoff... seeing your own do the same with and for their special bear. The other night I was getting the kids ready for bed and I caught Big G in his rocking chair sweetly singing and comforting his bear to put him to sleep. I was taken back a bit because he was doing so many things that I would do to him. The power of modeling to my children strikes again. Powerful and humbling to see and experience. Here's my little boy being big boy to his bear. Love you G - good job! (Just make sure you give your bear a little air while you're hugging him.)

Picture Perfect Pigtails

Little G's hair is gettin' long and I am trying to figure out what to do with it! It's not quite long enough to do much, yet it is seeming a bit out of control at the moment. So between distracting her and basically pinning her down - here are some of her pigtail pictures. Taking her picture is about as challenging as doing the little one's hair. Pardon the messy mouth, she was heading in for a bath and I wanted to get the picture of the pigtails before they were dismantled.

The Beautiful Fall Season

To me there is no better season then Fall. We have had a beautiful Fall here in the Great Lakes area and we have been enjoying all that comes with it. We have taken two trips to the apple orchard and a trip to a farm where we picked up a "porch package" to decorate with. We have another trip with Big G's Preschool to go to a dairy farm. Should be fun and we'll be able to get in our last few days of this awesome season. Here is our decor and a shot of Little G at the apple orchard/pumpkin patch and our front door.

Our Wednesday's with Z

Big G has a best friend we call him "Z". He lives right behind us and on Wednesday's we get to have Z with us so his mommy can go serve at church. The boys really look forward to this day. They get very excited when they hear each other's voices in the morning when Z arrives. I try to keep these young lads days packed full with activities, so that they actually will rest in the afternoon to a couple of their favorite shows. Diego and Dora! Here they are having a little rest time together.
And after some time painting in the basement - this is what they ascended looking like. We had made Power Ranger masks, but I guess they wanted to try and just paint them "on" one another. Good thing Little G was napping. I wonder what they would have done to her?!
And finally, Big G gets some fun homework projects sent home with him from preschool, so I thought we would work on fine motor skills this day. They loved it, they just thought they got to draw on the frig. door. There is the Little G playing classroom assistant. They are so fun to watch grow and explore. We love our days with Z and we just really love Z! He's a blessing to G and G

She had a great check up

Little G went for her first dental check up on Tuesday and she did amazingly well. I wondered how the Dr. was going to manage looking in there, but she did! Gracie did great. Big G came away with 2 cavities and I could just kick myself for not being more attentive to his brushings since his last perfect check up. Here I thought I was giving him all this "grown up" responsibility - but instead I was allowing cavities to brew. Never again, I am back to my 2 daily scrubs with him. I have dealt with the "I'm a horrible mother scenario" ever since. But then I remembered, they're small ones, they will be filled and then he has a 2nd chance with the other set. Just like God to always give us second chances. Anywho, here is our little champ wearing her sticker so proud. You have to look close because the sticker blends in with the crazy colored top she has on. Now for the eye exams!!!
