I like to sing and dance

Today G was caught singing and dancing in his playroom. There is not a day that goes by that he isn't either playing his new "geegeetar" (his guitar), his drums, singin' into his microphone and dancing. He is going to be a worshiper in some facet or form. We just love this guy and he never ceases to amaze us. Keep singin' & playin' G ~ God is gonna use you!

Some Cool Word Wall Art

I purchased some really cool word wall art from a company called Uppercase Living. I am strongly considering selling this product because it is so very cool and fun to work with. The ideas are endless. Here is one I put up in the kitchen last week. It says, "Give Much, Greet Many, Gather Often" it is fitting for us in our home.
I also applied one to our front door as well as one on a left over tile from our house. They are very fun, add so much to the home. I have two more in process, one for the upstairs hallway and one in C's office at work. I'll share when I'm done.

I love this picture

I captured this one the other morning. C was having a quiet time and preparing for his sermon and G sat down and decided to have his quiet time with a big wordy book too - the dictionary. The dictionary is not what I see as important here, the important thing is that G saw his daddy with a big thick book - the Word of God and he wanted to be like his daddy. Amazing what our kids see and emulate. So grateful for C and the model he is to our boy. Thank you God for these precious guys in my life.

G's Birthday with the family

G celebrated his birthday at Aunt Mary and Uncle Luke's house. He had fun and I think the pictures capture that. His birthday is coming up on 2/8, hard to believe our little guy will be 3. He is so excited to be three. I'm trying to put some video on here too, so hope it works. Sorry, there is no sound, I just figured it out on my camera, next time! Enjoy.

There's a new bow in town!

So Gracie doesn't have much hair and I have been trying to find new ways to do some "hairdos" for her. So I made a new bow for her out of a zip lock baggie and some ribbon. It's a pretty bow, but hard to see in the pic because it's a bit shiny. Oh well, her face is the best part anyways.

They love being together

I am treasuring these sweet moment with the kids. They love to hang out with each other. Everytime Big G is with Little G he says, "Take my picture mommy!" He loves his little sister and Little G loves to be with him. She watches his every move and laughs her head off at him. It's sweet to witness times like these. Truly gifts from God!

Look at me!

Yes, I have become one of "those" moms obsessed with her children. I remember being single and in education and hearing moms talking about their kids. They talked non-stop and would go into great depths about these "minor" and "non-important" details (this is what I used to think) about their kids. I used to think, "Wow, I will never be like that, I'm going to have a life!" Geez... I am pathetic! I am one of THOSE moms and ya know what, I LOVE it! My kids ARE my life and I know why now. They consume my every minute and fill me with MANY emotions. AND, when I take pictures like these posted above, I just sit and smile ear to ear, because they give me so much joy. Little G is having the time of her life exploring and discovering all the new things that she can do. She loves her toys from Christmas and is enjoying sitting up (she hasn't fully mastered this yet) and the best gift yet, her toes! She is diggin' on her toes. Big G wasn't into his toes at this age, so it's fun to see Little G discovering hers. Yep, after a post like this, I can admit that I am definitely become one of "those" moms. Praise God! I am humbled once again!

I'm A Big Girl Now!

Gracie is 6 months old tomorrow and she had her first bite of cereal last week and she loved it! She was in for her check up today and she weighs 14 lbs 1 oz. She's our little and loving peanut. She is getting so big and developing so much. She's a joy and she loves her new food!

Winter Weekend fun

Charlie goin' off the edge
Yah! That was fun!
G and his friend Z going tandum
Daily Square and the huge Chicago tree

Big G's dream car. I think he's adding this to his 3rd B-Day wish list!
Warming ours insides with a yummy slice of heaven ~ a Chicago treat.

Last Friday I got the shovel out and made a ramp off our back deck for some backyard sledding and boy was it fun. After being outside for a few minutes I had the neighbors watchin' me and slowly the neighborhood gang started pouring outside for some wintertime fun. I think it was a welcomed break for moms and dads. The kids have been on winter break and the weather has pretty much trapped the kids inside, so a little sledding was just what the doctor ordered for the morning. On Saturday we headed into Chicago for some after Christmas cheer. We watched the skaters in the park, toured the Macy's windows, browsed FAO Schwartz, stopped by Daily Square to see the big Christmas tree and ended our day with a slice of Chicago's deep pan pizza. The kids had so much fun and so did we. It was a wonderful weekend to get out and enjoy the sights and sounds of the winter season.

No More Monkeys Jumpin' On the Bed

Well, big G entered into boyhood on Sunday with his first bruised eye. It didn't turn completely black, but it's puffy and bruised. He was jumping on the bed at a friend's house and fell into a corner of a dresser. OUCH! Didn't seem to phase him though because 2 minutes later he was back jumping on the bed. He will learn through a life of hard knocks is my educated guess here.

Happy 2008 !

Heaven won. The top 5 answers were on the board!
The boyz are out making a clearing
Happy New year from our snowy house to yours!

Happy 2008?! Can it be? We had a fun time ushering in the New Year last night with some friends from church. We got a babysitter for the kids and headed over to our neighbors house for some appetizers, a fun game of Family Feud (Hotties vs the Studmuffins). The studmuffins won overall, but the one category that was a fun one was, "What happens when you die?" and the survey says, "Heaven over Hell!" Pretty fun stuff, we had a lot of fun. We then sat down for a late night steak dinner and ended the night ringin' in the new year in front of the TV with the 30 second count down from Chicago. All the while it was snowin' like crazy outside and the thought of getting up to shovel the white stuff didn't sound too fun to C. But a New Years gift was given to us by our neighbor John Ryan when he finished up his driveway and I looked out the window to see him doing ours. What a gift. C and G joined him for the final details and I snapped a picture from the garage in my robe. I was lookin' good (NOT!) No pics of me though... YAH! It is a winter wonderland today and we are safe inside next to the fireplace. We love you and wish you all a very blessed and Happy New Year.
